Growth and Change

Life has been happening in full force. I have handed in my dissertation, I’ve had some of my last assessments (third year uni students I know you can all relate). I’ve thought extensively about the ‘rest of my life’ and ultimately the last few weeks have been a time of upheaval and change. I’ve endured my first heartbreak and all the positives and negatives that come attached to this. But realistically, despite the ups and downs, I wouldn’t change any of it. The last few months have served to be an important learning process – learning about myself, learning how important your friends and family are, and learning the importance of knowing your own self-worth and potential.

Even though quite often change is forced upon us, we can harness it and use it to our advantage. Life is confusing and its becoming more and more apparent to me that there is no right way to solve it, and that the focus shouldn’t be the solution at all. It is about the journey, the people you meet and connect with (however long that connection may last), and the experiences that teach you and guide you. As humans we are blessed the the ability to reflect, which gives us the power to use our situations as a catalyst for learning and growing.

Letting these experiences get the better of you will only feed your fears. Make the conscious decision to chose love over fear and keep living. Fall over, make mistakes, put yourself out there. Do your best to ignore the pressures put on you from external sources because the future is yours to shape in exactly the way you want.
